The Research About Polysyllables In Yekecongshu And The Amendments Of Grand Dictionary Of Chinese

Yekecongshu(《野客丛书》) which, completed by Wang Mao in SongDynasty, is an important academic notes. It contains rich contents, suchas economy, system, Confucian classics, inscriptions, script, custom,the name and description of a thing, geography, story and so on. It is anancient book which has ample corpus and significant linguistics value.Comparing with the Grand dictionary of Chinese, the paper will bebased on the vocabularies of Yekecongshu to make little contribution torevise and perfect the dictionary.The article is divided into five parts. The preface introduces thetopic source, significance and methods of writing, such as contrastmethod, the method of analysis and synthesis and the method usingreference. In addition, it also describes the author, edition and languagefeatures of Yekecongshu. The languages features in the literary sketchesare rich in words and a high degree of colloquialism which areconducive to researching of words in the special books. Chapter two, weadd new entry of the book for the language dictionary. Afterinvestigation, we supply twenty-seven omissions of terms. In the last,we draw a conclusion that the omissions of inverse morphemes wordsand synonyms and so on. Chapter three, we supplement and correctfourteen meaning item. In this part, we point out that a lot of errors suchas sense absence and explanation erroneous are found in the languagedictionary. Chapter four, we revise the error of the Grand dictionary ofChinese in documented evidence through advancing the time oftwenty-nine documented evidence, supplementing forty documentedevidence. In the conclusion, we summarize the article and point out thedeficiency of it. Because we do not adequately possess the theory and material, thepaper could be improved in many respects.The paper combines Yekecongshu and Grand dictionary of Chinese tostudy for the first time. The innovation is different from the originalresearch which is limit to study the version, author and literary value.This paper not only has consulting value on the studying of Chinese language history,but also makes a little contribution to revise the dictionary.
