The embodied cognition of weight and importance is one of the centralissue in frontier research of embodied cognition. But the relevant researches about theembodied cognition of weight and importance are not so much at home and abroad. Andthe research about weight and importance in china is mainly in conducted basing onforeign research. Drawing lessons from foreign research, this study uses theexperimental method and selects a new breakthrough point to continue. This studymainly validation the relations between weight and importance of embodied cognition, and joined the distraction task interference in the experiment, to verify that the weightand importance of embodied cognition is affected by the distraction task. This study isdivided into two parts:The first experiment using previous experiment design, choose a lighter and aheavy clipboard as experiment tool to verify. In experiment, the participant shouldanswer four materials on the clipboard which in their left hand. The influence of weighton the importance only happens when the objects that are estimated by importance havea loose relationship with participants. However when the participants faced with ownexistence immediate interests, the effect was not significant. In the second experiment, we using experimental method to verify the importanceof abstract concepts impact on weight reverse role relationship. Under the condition ofexperiment, in the presence of distraction task, inform the participants the importance ofthe laptop, and try to estimate the weight of the laptop. On the condition ofnon-distraction task, the estimation of weight of notebook by whom are told theimportance of notebook is higher than which are told the unimportance of notebook. But when there are distraction task effecting participants, significant difference didn’tshow on estimation of weight of notebook, whatever the participants are told theimportance or unimportance of notebook, which verifies the initial assumptions.
