| With the development of science and technology, the world came into the information era. News plays a major role in this process, from which we can learn about the latest events in the world. Among different news types, news commentary is a very important part with it’s informational and commentary features. The chosen translation materials in this paper are news commentary on Obama’s campaign, which mainly discuss the current events and trends about Obama’s campaign from a certain aspect, and express the columnist’s or media’s ideas. By giving instances of translation on English news commentary, this paper firstly discusses the process of the translation practice, including analysis of the function and language features of translation materials, and then the way of understanding and expression. At last, the paper analyzes the problems and translation strategies and skills with examples in the process of translation. |
