| Translation originates in language communication, which is one of the oldest and the most complicated social practices. With the development of China’s internationalization, great translation demand spawns the flourishing of translation services. At the same time, more and more qualified and well-educated translators swarm into the market. In this context, effective translation process management can not only exploit translators’talents to the full, but also satisfy the great need of translation. As a service activity, translation touches on many factors. Among which, the translation quality is the most important determinant for a translation service.Based on the project management process model in the economic management field, this paper builds a translation process diagram through combining with the translation process and characteristics. By employing the qualitative research method, observation method and quantitative method, taking three translation projects as examples, the author designs and conducts the translation process management and quality control experiment. This paper not only studies the specific content in the translation process and explores the factors affecting the translation quality, but also optimizes the links in the translation process. After analyzing and contrasting, the main conclusions of this study are:the result of the experiment shows that translation preparation, double proof reading, and communication play significant roles in the translation process. Through analyzing the translation quality and comparing the submission time, the author found that the proof reading method, translation style and terminology unification and project communication are the primary causes of translation difference. |
