The essay uses the method of quantitative and qualitative researches toexplore the development among resilience, posttraumatic growth (PTG) and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) of adolescents in Sichuan earthquake areas. In quantitative research, with the help of revised Conner-Davidson scale, children’sposttraumatic stress diagnostic scale (CPSS) and revised posttraumatic growthresilience scale(PTGI), the researcher tracked adolescents in Sichuan earthquake areasfive times, we found that:(1) A siginificant individual differences in the level of resilience, PTG and PTSD inthe first Measurement.(2) resilience of adolescents in Sichuan earthquake areas showed a lineardownward trend; PTG showing a significant linear downward trend, an upward trend inthe second and four; PTSD showed a significant linear downward trend, four upwardtrend.(3) PTSD with PTG has a significant positive correlation of adolescents in Sichuanearthquake areas, while a significant negative correlation with resilience; positivecorrelation showed higher levels between resilience and PTG.(4) The three dimensions of resilience on posttraumatic growth were significantlypositively predict, while the strength dimension and optimism dimension of resilienceon PTSD were significantly negative prediction. Another, optimism dimension couldpredict PTG and PTSD through the pace of development in the further.(5) A proportion of18.87%is due to the individual’s resilience in the process ofPTG; while a proportion of14.74%is due to the individual’s resilience in the decreaseof PTSD.In qualitative research, through the nine typical adolescents from the above quantitative research, researcher conducted semi-structured interviews with them, andcollect data classification code to inspect their PTG connotations, resiliency protectivefactor, as well as resilience characteristic under different levels of PTG and PTSD.We found that:(1) After the earthquake, the individuals ’ main stress resistance are mainlyconcentrated in the study pressure, family economic, casualties and improperrelationships.(2) Individual who with a significant-highly data on PTSD in quantitative research, reflected the painful emotions, numbness and powerlessness status quo, whileIndividual who with a significant-highly data on PTG in quantitative research, mainlyfocused on the possibility of the emergence of new, wonderful human, interpersonalexchanges positive attitude shift, enhance self-fulfillment, enhance the sense ofself-reliance, and the changes in the life center of gravity, the appreciation of lifeaspects.(3) Resiliency protective factors among the interviewed students show individualdifferences: individuals with a higher level of resilience, PTG experience is also higher.(4) Individual’s level of PTSD are more vulnerable to the influence of the post-earthquake stress events.
