| Inscription on bronze instruments is an important category of Bronze inscriptions and has an important position in the study of ancient writing. This thesis is an emendation of358pieces of Inscription on bronze instruments which are collected in the book Yin Zhou Jin Wen Ji Cheng (the revised and complementary edition).Initially, we marked different explanation of the bronze inscriptions, referring to Yin Zhou Jin Wen Ji Cheng, Yin Zhou Jin Wen Ji Cheng Shi Wen, Ji Wen Yin De, Shang Zhou Qing Tong Qi Ming Wen Xuan, Shang Zhou Qing Tong Qi Ming Wen Ji Tu Xiang Ji Cheng.Secondly, we divide the358pieces of bronze inscriptions into two parts, according to their area, Western Zhou Dynasty, the Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period. Western Zhou Dynasty is divided into early time, middle time and late time three parts. We attached the kings’s names, the bronzes belong to, under each bronze. The bronzes belong to the Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States are divided according to their countries. We try to absorb latest study to do this emendation. As for the contentious explanations, if we can do a judge, we choose the better one. If not, we list the arguments, for the characters we don’t know, we keep their fronts.Finally, we,base on former studies, try to give our understanding of the bronze inscriptions which are mysterious. |
