| With the deepening of reform of higher education in our country, the vigorous development of higher vocational education, the higher vocational English education in our country is faced with new opportunities and challenges. Especially the higher vocational English teaching is still not meet the needs of the adaptability of talent training, the traditional teaching concept and teaching method needs to reform and perfect, otherwise it will be difficult to achieve higher vocational talents training target and satisfy the social requirement for the class.Through teaching practice and research, the problems in polytechnic institute students’ English learning mainly include:first, the basis of higher vocational students in English learning is poor, most of them have difficulty in opening their mouth; Secondly, most vocational students’ lack of autonomous learning ability; Thirdly, in higher vocational college students lack the ability to think independently; lastly, students in polytechnic institute can’t use the language they learned.In the view of the above problem, this paper explore practically through the existing teaching method, aiming to improve and enhance the level and quality of English teaching in polytechnic institute. In this paper, the writer works mainly in following four aspects:try to use phonics to solve the problem in difficulty in opening students’ mouth to speak English; Implementation of cooperation teaching method to improve the self-learning ability of English; Use heuristic teaching method to enhance students’ independent thinking ability; To carry out the communicative teaching to help students to use what their have learned in practical situation, in order to improve higher vocational students’ English comprehensive level. |
