| As the translation industry develops, a new challenge facing the translators is how toimprove their translation efficiency to meet the larger translation demands and shorterturnaround times. The use of Computer Aided Translation tools powered by the TranslationMemory Technology can be a practical solution. This thesis aims to discuss the effects ofthe CAT tool memoQ in improving translation efficiency by means of a case study basedon a translation project of local election documents in Texas, USA. Generally, translationoutput, information search, terminology management and quality assurance are fourintegral processes that a translator must go through to complete his/her translationassignment. The thesis demonstrates through the case study that using memoQ canfacilitate these four processes, thereby achieving significant improvements in translationefficiency. |
