With the development of the3D modeling techniques, the technical of building3D model with point cloud data that obtained by vehicle scanning has also made considerable progress. The Laser Scanning measurement technique which is being a new type of spatial data access methods and tools has developed rapidly in recent years. using this system, the three-dimensional model will be built quickly and accurately. but because the equipment is vertical scanning, the vehicle always scanned out a side of the building, thus the character information of building is not obvious, there are no direct interpretation of the objects, and it is also encountered the problem of loss lock, which greatly affect the precision of the data. At the same time, the aerial image data has low spatial resolution and precision, and it is also lack of elevation information, however, its image feature serials and have spectral information. Through a combination of vehicle scanning data and aerial image data, we can improve the accuracy of data.SketchUp is a creative process-oriented design tools and also a excellent tool for three-dimensional model which was launched by Google Earth. SketchUp allows you the freedom to create3D models, and you also can release the results of your own on Google Earth, and can be submitted to Google’s3D Warehouse for model accuracy assessment. Of course you can get the materials from the Google3D Warehouse as the basis of creation. This article is a combination of the two new data, research and realized the technical of3D modeling with vehicle scanning data and aerial images, also the model accuracy assessment methods based on SketchUp. The main contribution of this paper is as follows:1. The3D modeling of vehicle scanning data and aerial images base on SketchUp. This paper presents a new method of3D modeling that uses the point cloud data in SketchUp.2. The3D modeling of aerial imagery maps of some of the buildings based on SketchUp. Because the point cloud data of some buildings in Buffalo only have one side, so we can intercept aviation image of the buildings from aerial imagery data, then build the3D model with photo matching function of SketchUp directly.3. Now integrate the models that produced by the above two programs, and then find the precise positioning of the model, the model will be uploaded to Google Earth for model online sharing, also we can upload the model to the Google3D Warehouse to detect the accuracy of the model. The article concludes the paper’s research and the outlook that will continue to study.
