With the growing demand for micro metal parts, development of high-speed precision press becomes imperative. This paper focuses on structural optimization and thermal equilibrium for the press.A new principle mechanism for high-speed precision press is selected, and its kinematic model is established. Kinematic characteristics of the mechanism are analyzed quantitatively by an example. The study combines genetic algorithm with differential evolution to optimize the rod length with the optimization aim of the shortest crank length, and verifies the effectiveness of optimization.In order to determine constrain forces, dynamic static equilibrium equations for each component are created on the basis of D’Alembert principle, and mechanical characteristics is analyzed quantitatively by an example. According to the maximum axial force and material strength, the cross-section parameters are designed and checked. Integrated balance optimization is used to design the mechanism, and optimization results are validated. The real dynamical equations of the mechanism are established and solved. The flywheel is installed on the crankshaft to reduce speed fluctuations, and the method is verified.Heat distribution and heat transfer conditions are analyzed qualitatively, and heat generated by key heat sources and parameters of heat transfer are calculated quantitatively. Finite element model of the press is created, thermal load is applied to the critical heat sources, and boundary conditions are set. Finite element models of the press are solved respectively by ANSYS in three cases, and the result is analyzed. The first pipe system is disposed in the key sources to get rid of most heat. In addition, the second pipe system is put into column of press to compensate the precision of bottom dead center.Then key issues of these two methods are analyzed and discussed.Finally, the effect of compensated accuracy is analyzed.
