In the flotation tailing from Yangla copper mine of Yunnan Copper Group the grade of copper, sulfur and iron are0.21%,1.26%and15.26%respectively. Other gangue minerals in this tailing are mainly quartz, silicate, calcium and magnesium carbonate. In this thesis, taking the tailings as research object, using the combined method of dressing and smelting to recover copper and iron resources, which has practical significance for improving the recovery and utilization of copper ore iron ore resources.Tailings properties study shows that copper minerals in this tailings is mainly exists in the form of copper sulfide, and iron minerals mainly exists in the form of iron silicate, followed by iron sulfide, hematite and limonite, magnetite distribution rate at about11%. Based on the properties study, relevant literature and also exploratory experiment, it is determined that copper sulfide minerals and magnetite as recycled objects, using flotation to recover copper sulphide minerals, and magnetic separation to recover magnetite, sulphation roasting and leaching principles processes to recovery copper from flotation rougher concentrate of copper to achieve the comprehensive recover of copper and iron minerals in this tailings.A system of experiments such as grinding fineness, type and amount of flotation reagent, open flow tests were conducted to determine the flotation reagent system and process structure to recovery copper from this tailings. Carried out the experiment of closed circuit under the conditions of tailings without grinding and sulfuric acid as the pH adjusting agent, iso-amyl xanthate as collector, the2nd oil as foaming agent, using a roughing, secondary sweep the election, coarse concentrate regrinding selection, obtained the grade of copper is1.43%and rough concentrate of copper recovery was29.71%.Through tests of weak magnetic separation and high intensity magnetic separation to determine the process of weak magnetic separation to recovery magnetite from the secondary flotation tailings, a stage of weak magnetic separation to obtain the iron grade of59.95%, total iron recovery rate of6.44%, strong magnetic iron recovery of78%of the iron concentrate. Through experiments such as sulfating roasting temperature, roasting time, the dosage of sulfuric acid leaching, leaching time test, the liquid-solid ratio test to determine the best process parameters of sulphation roasting-leaching. Under the condition of temperature of450℃for copper rough concentrate roasting135minutes, and then to calcine with4%sulfuric acid solution and liquid-solid ratio of3:1leaching under the conditions of80minutes, the technical index of the copper leaching rate is about81%. Copper in the leaching liquid can recycle by the methods of extraction, electrodeposition or other mature methods.During the experiments, analysis and study the mechanism for flotation reagents and roasting thermodynamic, which has a theoretical guidance on the test, but also further validate the feasibility and reliability of the test methods and procedures in theory.If this technique could be applied to the plant practice of Yangla copper mine, comprehensive recovery of copper could be improved the by4%, and obtain13,000tons of iron concentrate with grade about60%per year. In this regard, which have a certain economic benefits.
