Helical tooth broach has a higher strength, longer service life than the average ordinarybroach and be able to get a higher surface quality, must be used in practical production.Because helical tooth broach are complex cutting tool, it take mach time to design andproduct.In order to further improve the efficiency and quality of designing helical toothbroach.The helical tooth broach CAD system and finite element simulation of broachingprocess research has very important significance.Based on the analysis of the characteristics of the helical tooth broach and broachingmechanism, using the method of dividing infinitesimal, the cutting tooth of spiral toothbroach can be divided into several micro, established a model of cutting force based on micro,and uses B-spline curve function for the smooth processing of cutting teeth. Through B-splinecurve function equation to calculate cutting loads, cutting edge and workpiece contact length,get a micro cutting force equation is simplified.In this paper, the conventional design method of helical tooth broach is analyzed, use thecommand of removal in Solidworks and drawing tooth profile and helix, removal cylindricalmatrix to get3D model of the helical teeth. Using the method of VB to Solidworks secondarydevelopment, developed a helical tooth broach CAD system and realized3D model and2Dengineering drawing of helical tooth broach, to applied in the practical engineering.Considering the complexity of the cutting process of the helical tooth broach.In the papercutting special finite element simulation software Third Wave Advantedge V5.6studied thebroaching process.In Orthogonal cutting of broaching process, analyzed the rake Angle, reliefAngle,cutting edge radius,chip load and cutting speed on broaching force and cuttingtemperature.Useing orthogonal experiment, through the analysis and variance obtained thefactors influencing the broaching force of optimum combination.
