The PDC bit is used very prevalent in the petroleum drilling project. For a long time, it is always a hot focus and difficulty in the fields of drilling about the thermal analysis research of rock-breaking process with the cutters of PDC bit, and it receives more and more attention by scholars in the mechanics circle and the engineering field. At present, the main problems about the thermal analysis research of rock-breaking process with the cutters of PDC bit at home and abroad are as follows:Relative lack of thermal analysis of experimental research foundation, lack of experimental conditions. In theory and get through the analysis of the simplified model to solve the difficult to accurately in the rock in the process of cutting teeth temperature field distribution and cutting process, the temperature is a constant process of accumulation, cutting the rock for PDC tooth in the process of transient temperature field analysis this kind of nonlinear problem, theory method can do work is limited. So the prediction analysis of the rock-breaking process is still lacking a reasonable and effective temperature field model.Based on the knowledge of Cutting process temperature field theory analysis this author simulated temperature field of the rock-breaking process of the cutters of PDC bit by the general non-linear finite element analysis software ABAQUS in this paper. Some important reference findings for heat cutting production and transmission and cutting temperature field distribution rule and for the design of the PDC bit and performance analysis are obtained by changing cutting parameters of the PDC cutters. This paper mainly has completed following aspects of research works:(1) Study the mechanism of friction and heat in the process of cutting, heat generation and conduction of the temperature field distribution regularity.(2) Research in the process of cutting the transient temperature field of finite element simulation strategy.(3) The two-dimensional geometric models which about rock-breaking process have been established.(4) Some important reference values are obtained by changing cutting parameters of the PDC cutters to simulation.(5) Exploratory of a three-dimensional surface cutting simulation model, PDC bit in cutting process of rock bottom of the cutting teeth of temperature distribution.This paper draw some conclusions of reference through the simulation temperature field analysis of the rock-breaking process with the cutters of PDC bit and understand the heat generation and transmission. For the design of the PDC bit and cutting teeth heat damage research has important guiding significance for optimization cutting parameters to provide the reference value. Supply important theoretical basis and analytical methods for the bit’s development of new product.
