Government Environmental Audit Study In China

Resources and the environment is the basis of human survival anddevelopment. With the reform and opening, China’s economic andsocial achieved remarkable development. However, the extensiveeconomic growth mode is unsustainable demand for resources isincreasing and environmental pollution is worsening, that bringenormous pressure to the resources and the environment, ecologicalenvironment is worrying. the extensive economic growth mode isunsustainable. Severe resource and environmental situation has seriouslyhampered the sustainable development of China’s economy and society.Solve the problems of resources and environment is a large and complexsystems engineering. As a comprehensive economic monitoring tools,environmental audit is one of the indispensable components.Researchon the environmental audit has theoretical and practical significance.Western countries began to explore the environmental audit earlier,starting in the1960s and1970s. China began to study the environmentalaudit since the1980s. After thirty years’ development, our governmentenvironmental audit has got very significant achievements. However,there are some obvious problems about our government environmentalaudit. These problems to some extent hindered the conduct ofgovernment environmental audit work. This paper review the domesticand foreign research about environment audit first, then summarize thetheory of government environmental audit, analysis problems of theChina government environmental audit and the causes of it from theoutside and inside. And make some improvement measures to ourgovernment environmental audit. Finally, Combine theory and caseanalysis.
