In the papers, anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities of different parts of the extractions of the Chimonanthus plant Wintersweet were evaluated by mouse. The chemical compositions of the most effective part of extractions was isolated and identified. A bioactive was selected to determination.The95%ethanol extracts were concentrated and diluted by water. The solution was extracted by petroleum ether, ethyl acetate, n-butanol sequentially, the anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities were evaluated through the four parts of extracts. The result indicates that the extract of ethyl acetate is the best.17compounds have been isolated from the extracts of ethyl acetate. ZY-4(7-hydroxy-6-methoxych roman-2-one), ZY-5(isofraxidin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside), ZY-11(Oxyphyllenodiols A), ZY-12(syringic acid), ZY-8, ZY-9, ZY-10, ZY-13((1R,3R,6S,7R,10S)-7-Isopropyl-4,10-dimethylbicyclo[4.4.0]-dec-4-ene-3,10-iol) ZY-14(Oxyphyllenodiols B), ZY-18(t-cadinol), ZY-19(stigmast-4-en-3-one) were first isolated from this plant.Scopoletin isolated from the extract which is the reported bioactive composition was selected as control compound. The scopoletin, bought from National Institutes for Food and Drug Control, of10samples collected from10places of Guizhou Province was determined by HPLC.
