Graffiti is generally refers scrawled pictures or text on the arbitrary plane, and sometimes also include some meaningless symbols, color blocks, these elements are grouped together, often forming a special visual effect and significance.Graffiti always appeared on the walls of public places or other public plane.The object of this paper is the graffiti art what is originated from the United States, in concept and form, graffiti art as one of the art of painting, inevitably influenced by the visual language of traditional painting, filled with the feeling of the original painting in the form. However, it is undeniable that the graffiti as the represent of modern art’s new concept, the most direct impact must be given by pop art and post-modern art, graffiti art seems to departure from the traditional art in concept, but it is trying to absorb the naive elements of traditional art in the visual language, combined with the personality characteristics and historical background of these new artists, showing the artistic charm of returning to innocence and departure from cognitive pursuit to the self-world.Graffiti art was originated in the poorest Bronx of New York, matured and prevalent in sixties, it grew some different categories and had already developed into one of the international public art. It was not only that got the right to speak on the art scene, but also combined with the traditional art of painting, and even directly or indirectly affect the development of the modern easel painting. The paper attempts to explore graffiti art by the visual language areas of the art of painting,and combined with the application situation of domestic easel painting to illustrate the characteristics of graffiti art as the art of painting, and the combination of the information and the data, as well as my own practice in the painting and feelings of the visual language of graffiti art, to analyze and summarize the graffiti art.
