Jilu Mandarin Dialect Kinship Terms Wudi Use Studies

Kinship terms are not only necessary and often used, but also the link of families and society. This paper investigates kinship terms of Wudi dialect by dialect research methods and the usage of49Wudi-dialect-kinship-terms (WDKT) by sociolinguistic research methods to understand the Kinship terms use and predict the language use, variation law and development trend.The research got the following findings:Firstly, WDKT are departed into three parts, which are south, north and middle based on the differences of kinship terms use. South part has more influence on another two. Most WDKT are widely used, while the utilization of some kinship terms which has derogatory sense reduced. Cousinship terms tend to minus the prefix. Most of the utilization of Mandarin kinship terms is low.Secondly, the use frequency of WDKT is associated with the users’social statues. The living environment and age affect the use frequency of WDKT significantly, and then influence factors are level of education and gender.Thirdly, the factors influencing the utilization of WDKT include the effect of the expression, concept of communication, policy of fertility and the attitude to dialect and Mandarin.Fourthly, ethics of village residents has changed, especially in cousin relationship.
