Suzhou Picture Exhibition was one of the longest andmost influential painting organizations in China at the first half of the20thcentury. The finearts exhibition by Suzhou Picture Exhibition was the first nationwide one in contemporary arthistory in China. Suzhou Picture Exhibition continued to hold art exhibitions, popularizedaesthetic awareness and trained public appreciation of the aesthetics, aiming at publicaesthetic education. Furthermore, the establishment of Suzhou Training School of Fine Artswas integrated with Suzhou Picture Exhibition which influenced its professional art education.The paper will illustrate and analyze the historical background of early Republic of Chinawhen Suzhou Picture Exhibition existed and the establishment reasons of the Exhibition,meanwhile, it will study the title of Suzhou Picture Exhibition and its duration, attempting toclear up the historical clue of it.
