Classifiers are an important characteristic of the Sinotibetan language family.Not only does the Kam language have classifiers, the classifiers also cause aphenomenon of "sound change". This article investigates Kam dialects in the Gaobaarea of Jinping and Jianhe county, as well as Guantuan and Tuantou village inTongdao county. Through the analysis of classifier sound changes in theaforementioned regions, this article purposes to bring understanding to the linguisticcommunity about the phenomenon of classifier sound change in the Kam language.This article is divided into four chapters. The first is introduction, whichincludes research motive, a survey of current research in this subject, researchobjectives, and research significance. The second chapter contains phonologies of theKam dialects from the three regions: Gaoba, Guantuan, and Tuantou. The thirdchapter is a description of the classifier sound change phenomena in each of the threeregions. The fourth chapter is the conclusion.
