In the mid-nineteenth century, along with the pace of the Western invaders spread of Christianity in modern Chinese society, and had a profound impact in various fields. The paper, based on the Christian history of the area, were investigated, Christianity and Modern Wenzhou social From the point of view of the social history of the Christianity of the late Qing Dynasty and the Wenzhou local social interaction between exposition and analysis of what the impact of this interaction between the two respective.This paper argues that local social and historical background for the Christian favorable or unfavorable factors in the spread and development of Wenzhou. Which characteristics of Wenzhou geographical conditions conducive to the spread of Christianity, superstitious tradition is a double-edged sword, a powerful clan organization and active society forces its potential disadvantages.Wenzhou early Christianity did not develop smoothly, due to the Hua-Yi reasons makes Christianity does not function as a religious emphasis on local community development to the church, the believers received good and bad, especially the forces of many societiesjoin; conducive to the spread of Christianity, W.E.Sootill as the representative of missionaries, take localization missionary strategy, then the Bible translated Wenzhou adaptation of poetry, due to missionary and other measures to open up a missionary work with local characteristic.The introduction of Christianity to restructure the pattern of local forces, the one hand, in the previous China to teach conflict, the people, the party, the gentry involved in the anti-foreign religion movement for their own benefit or purpose; on the other hand, the introduction of Christianity and its privileged position, destruction of justice, intensified social conflicts, exacerbated by social unrest, and a negative impact to the local community. The Christian hospital opened in Wenzhou, the founder of the school, to promote the activities of women’s liberation and dissuasive opium Modern Western civilization baptism, the late Qing Dynasty social objective to promote the process of modernization of the society in Wenzhou, a far-reaching impact.
