| Leo Castelli Gallery is one of the important art gallery that recommend AmericaContemporary Art，Jasper Johns、Robert Rauschenberg、Pop Art、Minimal Artand Conceptual Art are promoted by the gallery since its foundation. It alsochanged the way that American galleries cooperate with its artists. Castelli Galleryadopted paying the artists by month instead of paying by the condition of the sellingof the artworks. The Gallery has its own strategy in artist promoting、galleryexpanding and collectors guiding. This article use Castelli Gallery as its researchobject, based on the research of its foundation background、 manage system and theartists it recommended, and try to summarize the reasons of the success of theCastelli Gallery in the1960S’ and1970S’. Through the research of art market in1980S’ and1990S’ and the problem the gallery encountered in the late periods,toresearch the gallery’s disadvantages and limitations in history to analyse theapplicability of its strategy in different periods and environment.In this article,some research methods are used, including case study andstatistics.Case study is an important method of Art Management.
