Historical And Cultural Studies Teaching Chinese As A Foreign

Cultural teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language has gradually been paid attention to by the relevant field since1980s. The point that language teaching should be combined with culture has been reached a consensus. Historical culture is a special part of culture; but there are few discussions upon the teaching content and methods of it.Based on the surveys of literature and questionnaire, the paper makes an analysis of the result of the surveys, discusses some existing problems upon the teaching of historical culture in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and puts forwards some corresponding proposals.Currently the focus of historical and cultural content of different types of the teaching materials which commonly used in foreign language teaching are different, there is no scientific standard of the writing style of history and culture of a foreign language teaching materials, and it has logical defects.This paper investigated the setting of cultural courses of three universities.From the surveys of the curriculum, the author found that the curriculum established a connection between the school’s nature and the training objectives of the students.Besides that, through the analysis of the result of the surveys which among the teachers of cultural teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, the author found that there are many preambles in the teachers, such as the cultural consciousness is not enough, the practice teaching is deficient and there is no distinction of student’s learning phases.Based on the above analysis of the result of the surveys, the paper further discusses the teaching methods and strategies of the historical and culture teaching of teaching Chinese as a foreign language:according to the different basis and learning objectives of Chinese language studying, the teachers can teach the foreign students phased and hierarchically,to work out the different teaching methods of different stages.
