With the increasingly closed communication with foreign countries and the spread of Chinese culture, the number of the students from overseas constantly increased these year. The research of Chinese mandarin and Teaching Chinese As a foreign language also improved a lot, especially the research of country-specific Chinese teaching has increased recent years.Students from Thailand constitude a high proportion in the Chinese Learners among the world.Thai students show obvious characteristic of "Thai flavor" in pronounciation, vocabulary and grammar.Pronunciation is the foundation of language acquisition. Phonetic teaching take a fundamental position in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. This thesis based on the sound pattern theory, using the method of acoustical experiment and comparative analusis, choose12Thai students with different Chinese level, and2Chinese students with primary Thai level as research objects, tends to study on Thai students’Chinese A-grade vowles acquisition situation and Chinese students’Thai A-grade vowels acquisition situation. The first part of this thesis serves as the Introduction, it explains the purpose and meaning of research, summarize the theoretical basis and the main content and the research method of this thesis. The second chapter introduces the research status which related to this thesis from the aspects such as the basic facts of vowels pattern, the acquisition about vowels in Chinese learning, and the research of Chinese phonetic acquisition of Thai students. The third chapter compare the vowel systems, consonant systems and tones systems between Chinese and Thai.Compare the A-grade vowels of Chinese and Thai from the aspects of acoustic pattern and acoustic parameters by using the software "Mini-speech Lab" and to inductive the similarity of A-grade vowels between Chinese and Thai. The forth chapter analyse the Chinese A-grade vowels’pronounciation of Thai students and the Thai A-grade vowels’pronounciation of Chinese students by comparing the pictures of sound pattern and the pictures of vowels pattern. The fifth chapter discuss the causes of pronounciation errors made by learners, find out that the main reasons which affect the pronounciation of second language are L1transfer,the influence from the textbook and the effect in teaching process, and make some phonetic teaching stragegies for Thai students and learning suggestions of Thai vowels for Chinese students..The last chapter is the summary, which summarizes the main conclusions of the experiments and put forward some inadequacy of this thesis. This thesis includes3ecperiment:1.The comparison and analysis of the A-grade vowels between Chinese and Thai. Analysis includes the contrast of the vowels pattern and the acoustic parameters.2.To explore the learning situation of Chinese A-grade vowels of the primary、 intermediate and senior level Thailand Chinese learners.3. To investigate the learning acquisition situation of Thai A-grade vowels of the primary level Chinese Thai learners. The result of experiments shows, for Thai students, the acquisition situation of Chinese A-grade vowels are uneven, students master the pronounciation skills of some vowels such as [i][u][a] in the early stages of learning. The acquisition situation of vowels [y][y] have great improvement from primary stage to advanced stage. But some vowels like [(?)][(?)] remain some pronounciation errors until the last stage of study. For Chinese students, the peak vowels [i][i:][u][u:][a][a:] are well-learned in the study, there are some overlaps between the high vowels [(?)][(?):] and the middle vowels [(?)][(?):], and the distinction between half-high vowels and half-low vowels are not obvious.
