Investigation For Thai Students On Learning First-level Adverbs In New HSK Vocabulary Outline

Adverbs learning has always been the focus and difficulty for the foreign learners. It is the same for Thai students. In Udon Thani, Thailand, from May2012to March2013, I had experienced a10-month teaching internship for teaching primary level learners whose level ranging from learning Chinese one to two years. In the process of teaching internship, I found that there were some problems exist in their adverb learning. This article selected5first-level adverbs from the new Vocabulary Outline of HSK, they are Negative Adverb"bu","mei ",Degree Adverbs "hen","tai", and Scope Adverbs "dou". This survey is based on the follow-up survey, then make a complete research. From teaching as a new word, then explaining the mistakes, proposing teaching strategies, then observing the mistake changing between ex-learning anf for-learning, in order to find the regulation of students learning these five adverbs,then put forward a complete report of the survey, in order to promote Chinese teaching in Thailand better.This article is mainly divided into four parts except introduction and conclusion. The first part simply introduced the reasons of writing this paper, the research status of the5first-level adverbs, and the source of the corpus. This article is trying to use the way of Literature review for the analysis for domestic and foreign research for Chinese adverb teaching in Thailand to determine the purpose of this research, research methods and innovation points.The second part is the report for the Negative Adverbs. The main mistake type of students learning Negative Adverbs "bu" on behalf of missing and wrong sequence. After explaining and exercises, then come through phase of testing, at last re-explain and re-practice found that the mistakes of Thai students learning Negative Adverb "bu" is on behalf of over representation, which accounted for the largest proportion, and it becomes the important and difficult point for students learning. The main mistake type of students learning Negative Adverb "mei" bias type on behalf of over representationand avoidance. After explaining and exercises, then come through phase of testing, at last re-explain and re-practice found that Thai students’ mistake of learning "mei" mainly on behalf of the over representation which accounts the largest propotion.The third part is the report for the adverbs of degree. The main mistake type of students learning Degree Adverb "hen" on behalf of missing, incorrectly added, the wrong sequence and mis-matches. After explaining and exercises, then come through phase of testing, at last re-explain and re-practice found that the mistake of incorrectly added and mismatches errors decreased, however omissions and mismatches possessed a large propotion, which becomes the learning difficulties for Thai students. The main mistakes of Degree Adverb "tai" are mismatches and overrepresentation. After explaining and exercises, then come through phase of testing, at last re-explain and re-practice found that over representation decreased for Thai students in using of Degree Adverb "tai", but mismatch bias increased with time which becomes the learning difficulties for Thai students.The forth part is the report for the Scope Adverbs. The main mistake type of students learning Scope Adverb "dou" on behalf of wrong sequence, omissions, mis-plus and misused. After explaining and exercises, then come through phase of testing, at last re-explain and re-practice found that wrong sequence and misuse generation bias declined, but the propotion of incorrectly added did not change significantly, then bias of omission increased.
