As the U.S. mens basketball team defeated the Spanish mens basketballteam and won the mens basketball gold medal of the Olympic Games in August12,2012, which marked the end of the basketball events.The Chinese national team wasdefeated for five times in succession, which was the worst record since the OlympicGames.In this paper, on the basis of consulting the relevant literature of the30thOlympic Games and studying the live video, I will adopt Rank Sum Ration(RSR)evaluation method and SPA analysis which are often used in statistics theory to makea comparative study of each technique of the Chinese national team and other strongteams of the world. With the characteristics and trends for the development of theworld Basketball, I will use SPA analysis method to give some constructive opinions tothe Chinese national team to reach the world level. The main conclusions are asfollows:1, In Group B, Spain, Russia and Brazil are traditional strong teams, whosecomprehensive competition ability belongs to the upper level of the Class B. Thecomprehensive capacity of Australia and the United Kingdom belongs tointermediate level?of the Class C, while the competition ability of China is in low levelof the Class C which is below the strong teams of the world.2, While the Chinese national team maintains a high level on special projects,there is still a considerable gap between the Chinese national team and the worldstop teams. Among the15statistical technology projects, the minimum uniformdegree between Chinese team and the world-class team is0.28, followed by0.411and the largest uniform degree is1.Tt will take a long time for the Chinese team toenter the top teams of the world mens basketball.3,The sameness, differences and contraries of each specification betweenChinese Basketball Team and other strong teams of the world are as follows:3-pointshooting, foul as “same”; being violated as "different"(partial); score, shooting, twopoint shooting, free throw percentage, rebounds, blocked shots, turnovers as “different’(slightly partial reaction); assists, steals, fast-break points, scoring inside,the second attack as”contrary”. Overall, there are five technical projects existing aconsiderable gap, seven technical projects existing a big gap, one technical projectexisting a smaller gap and there are only two technical projects of the ChineseBasketball Team meeting or exceeding the world standard.4, According to the IDC state sort table, we can clearly see that the Chineseteam is in state3with inverse potential, global12. There are2state areas with12levels in total from the worlds top teams with state1with similar potential, global1.5, We can see that the “contrary” between the level of the ChineseBasketball Team and other strong teams of the world contains smaller or wider gap inthe eight technical indicators, among which the order of AK value is: being violated,free throw percentage, turnovers, shooting rate, score, block shots,2points shooting,rebounding. Through the analysis of transition trend, we select the first fourtechnical indicators to enter the "same", which is the minimum standard thatChinese team achieves the standard of the worlds top teams. The “contrary” consistsfive indicators with considerable gap, among which the order of AK value turns insideattack, assists, steals, the second attack, a fast-break points. We choose inside attackto enter “contrary”, which is also the minimum standard being able to achieve the"contraries".
