First Automobile Works (FAW) is a veteran of state-owned enterprises in China.Since the1950s, it has become a large state-owned automobile manufacturing company.Along with the cumulative of FAW’s history, the FAW people generate a kind of uniquelife style and cultural identity.Recently, the city happiness ranking by major media publication, this incidentreflects the state of mind of the people desire happiness. City happiness should be relateto public space theory, is the process of local people to show their cultural identity to theoutside world. The same time, the city happiness of the individual integrated into urbancommunities which its existence is a "sense of community".Traditional folkloristics tend to study the ritual of life and culture. This paperattempts to jump out of this framework, the study of contemporary urban communities ofpeople, contact FAWs’ daily life of urban happiness ranking, explain its culturalsignificance:In the FAW community, related to FAW’s big or small history events, theFAW people format a unique historical memory, memory as precipitate human mind, willbe excited in the unconscious or appropriate stimulus and have enough power to beaccumulated to get through to form the unique identity of material in the Community.Meanwhile, FAW factory’s "a symbolic public facilities"-basic education schools, OldStreet area, kindergarten, the morning market children, parks, universities, hospitals,shopping malls, markets and other public facilities-the FAW people have memories ofpublic facilities to meet them with a unique cultural symbol, allow people to experience asense of belonging,Develop a culture mode of synchronic. Here, the real world is alsonecessary for the historical memory, and the symbolic public facilities are the containersof FAWs’ subjective memory. The FAW people in such a state of life to form a kind ofcultural identity, irrevocable and will continue to grow.Through field data, the problem is further answered by the author in the text. Whatis the important influence of the historical memory of the community and symbolicpublic facilities? Local Chinese cultural identity comes more from personality intimateexchanges or city exchanges Standards? Does the urban folk still be able to maintaincultural identity, and how does it play an irreplaceable role in everyday life? Answer these questions at the same time, is a study of the urban population living world.
