Theyexpanded the view of the feminist study, and at the same time enriched the theory of Marxism.In Marxism and the Oppression of Women: Toward a Unitary Theory, in order to develop aviable theory to analyses women’s oppression, Vogel contemporary the development of socialistfeminist theory and reading the classics Marxism about the women liberation, pointed that theirsignificant contribution and contradictions. She figured out that Marxism works offered therudiments of a theoretical foundation for analyzing the situation of women form the point ofview of social reproduction, but it has a deep flaws and it can’t fully explain the problems ofwomen, but Marxism offers a general goal and theory to women liberate, so we can construct atheoretical system to seek a suitable location for women oppression and liberation.As a new woman of the21st century, I think we should look into two view on Vogel’sfemale oppression and emancipation. She analyzed the problem of women’soppression in the context of the reproduction of labor power and the total social reproductionwithin the Marxist, figured out the essence of women oppression in the capitalist social, andbuild a stable foundation for the analysis of other issues of women oppression.Third, it is necessary to evaluate Vogel’s feminist, she insist on basis of classical Marxismand explore women oppression within the historical materialism and distinguish the nature ofthe different classes of women oppression, and provides a new idea for feminist research. At thesame time, we must pointed out the limitations of her theory, she don’t have a specific analysisof women oppression, and nor pointed out the specific social reform measures for womenliberation.Fourth, we must explores the real social meaning of Vogel’s feminism theory, and that ishow to emphasis on the status of women in the21st century, and it helps to build a harmonioussociety.
