A Comparative Study On Exercise Systems Of Sino-US Mother-Tongue Teaching Materials

The exercise system is a very important component part of textbooks. It ispermeated with some specific concepts at three levels including curriculum, textbookand instruction, which can strongly influence education. Consequently, whether theexercise system of textbooks can be designed superiorly in this aspect bearing on theresult of education. But the exercise system is actually at the attached position in ourcountry language teaching material. Language of People’s Education Press Editionaccording to the new curriculum standard has the breakthrough in the exercise design,which has developed the open-type exercise and synthesis exercise, and it also creatsa new world for student’s language study. However, there are some problem in ourcountry’s study on the concept of construction of textbook, especially the weak studyon exercise. The solution is to learn from foreign.In this paper, we compare the two countries curriculum standards onmacroeconomic, From the curriculum perspective, both countries have focused onthe concept of "people-oriented" courses which can improve student literacy.Analysis the differences in the two sets of textbooks from three aspects, which isorientation courses, textbooks and teaching practice of design ideas;from teachingperspective, there was greater difference between the two sets of textbooks onteaching and practice teaching of design ideas. It specific analysis the same topicexercises in the two sets of textbooks on the microscopic.Based on this, the authorproposes that the design of the exercises should focus on capacity training,operational training exercises and thinking skills.
