Objective: Consuming behavior is a kind of behavior by witch consumers canfulfill their needs thought purchasing different goods. This behavior is a very commonbehavior among social activities. The college students as special consumers have theirdistinct characteristics for their special educational experience and campus life. The studies on consuming objects are reported widely at home and aboard. Thecampus consuming model is rarely studied presently. The analysis of campusconsuming model in our university is representative for several reasons: Our school islocated in suburban and the transportation in this area is not that convenient. Thetraditional method to analyze consuming model among college students is not evidencein accuracy, because consuming data comes from questionnaire survey easily affectedby the volunteer’s personal emotion. In our study, the data about students’ consumingderives from campus computer center, which provides students smart cards to managetheir system effective and economically. Based on data mining model, we exploit thecharacteristic of college students consuming and the consuming differences in differentconsuming conditions. This study will help the authorities effectively make plans forphysical infrastructure and guidance for students’ consumption concepts.Technical route: We firstly export relative data from Oracle system, obtain thepersonal information such as sex、age and so on from students’ identification cardnumber. We arrange the individual consuming information through time series and thandivide those information as different parts based on consuming site. The ID is defined as only identification. The SPSS file we use to analyze can be generated by linkingstudent’s personal information to consuming information. At last, we get rid of theinformation about foreign student as well as the ones whose age is less than16andgreater than26.The personal information not complete are also discarded.Spss16.0software is introduced to upload data first and analyze that information togenerate states. The use of the mean in the previous study to describe the students’general level of consumption, but students consumption data generally showed anon-normal distribution, mean to exaggerate the actual level of consumption, so to usethe median value to descriptive statistics analysis in the study, We adopt NonparametricStatistics method to get the amount of consumption, different ratio of different sexes, ages and grades. The differences between dinner consumption and bathroomconsumption are also be analyzed.Case Study:1. Between2009and2010, about50%students’ consumption is arranged from612.7to1134.8Yuan in our university;2. The total consumption cost from smart card of male students is greater than theirfemale peer’s; their consumptions have no obvious difference between different grades. The mean value of consumption cost is random in different time. The variation ofconsumption cost also has no obvious fluctuation.3.About50%students’ consumption in dinning room is arranged from548.55to1065Yuan, which is the proportion from88.46%to95.13of total consumption cost insmart card.4. The consumption cost and ratio to total cost in dinning room of male is greaterthan female’s on a whole. The consumption cost and ratio to total cost in dinning roomhave no obvious difference between different grades.5.The average numbers using credit card and the average money spending inbathroom among girls are greater than male’s; The average numbers using credit cardand the average money spending in bathroom have no difference between differentgrades. Conclusion:1. The conversion method of this kind of data can be used for health services in avariety of running account data.2. The information from smart card can reflect the consuming characteristics oncampus. But practical consumption of collage students can hardly be reflected.3.From the information of smart card, we can draw that the average moneyspending in dinning room among girls are greater than male’s and there is no obviousdifference between different grades.4.The consumption cost in dinning room is greater proportion by using smart card, which means collage students always use smart card in dinning room.5.The consumption cost in bathroom among girls is greater than male’s, and thereis no obvious difference between different grades.
