Since the implementation of the reform and opening-up policy, confronted with educational resource shortage, private colleges and universities of our country have developed rapidly and become one of the main training powers to carry out the strategy to strengthen our country relying on talent. However, along with the internationalization of education market, in the face of the diversification of the demand for education, private colleges and universities are up against fiercer competition. How to cope with variable environment, orientate exactly and realize development has become an important subject in need of urgent studies.Yunnan College of Business Management (YCBM) is the only private college listed as Yunnan Provincial Higher Vocational Model College, and is of certain representativeness and significance.Taking YCBM as the research object, based upon related enterprise strategy management theories as well as plentiful materials and thorough investigation, this thesis analyses and evaluates its external environment and internal conditions applying PEST analysis, Five Forces Model and SWOT analysis, points out the strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats YCBM are faced with, and demonstrates that its development goal is feasible to adjust discipline and major structure to meet social need and economic development and develop into an applied undergraduate college which consists of the adoption of economics and management as main disciplines, and coordinative development of engineering, arts, science, medicine and so on, relying on a reasonable structure, moderate scale and distinctive features. At last, this paper puts forward the assurance measures of the strategy implementation, including optimizing major structure, deepening teaching reform, broadening financing channel, speeding up capital construction, improving practical training base, consummating supervising mechanism, organizational cultural construction and human resources integration.
