The problem of employment of university graduate is a universal problem of a troubled governments of all countries in the world and institutions of higher learning. In September2011, there was a movement of peaceful demonstration named "Occupy Wall Street" in USA, The students and teachers of75universities in USA responded to join. The experts pointed out, one of the immediate cause for this movement is the employment difficulties of University students. In our country, the university graduates were from1150000in2001to more than6500000in2011, it had increased by465%in10years, and almost closed to7million in2013.The number of graduates was so large and increasing year by year, caused that the employment difficult has become increasingly prominent social problem. Thus, The employment of college students, has become not only a problem of general concern of the public, but also a problem of closely watched by tertiary education sector. To study on this problem, not only trying to find a practical significance of solving the current predicament path, but also trying to find a theoretical significance of searching for the deep reasons by cut open the phenomen and problems, and promoting the reform of higher education.Through the research, this thesis argues that, with the deepening of economic globalization, knowledge economy be just unfolding, academic capitalism has become an irresistible trend. Academic capitalism means, universities and teaching and research staff conduct a series of marketing activities by scholarship for striving for external resources. In here, the "capitalist" is not referring to the political system of capitalism, but an economic way of market allocation of resources. Although, Chinese tertiary education sector has not yet formally introduced this concept, but frankly, many activities of higher education in our country, has shown some obvious characteristics of academic capitalism. Higher education is the most important pipeline of supplying the talents to society. To solve the employment problem as the terminal of higher education, we must firmly grasp the background that the higher education in China is facing the "invasion" of academic capitalism.Therefore, this thesis first takes the special form to discuss the relation between academic capitalism and the employment of college students, this is the difficulty in this research, but also is the innovation of this thesis. This thesis examines the evolution of connotation of academic capitalism, and its background for formation, and its influence on the development of higher education in detail. And in-depth analysis of the deep-seated reasons which is behind the phenomenon of employment problem of college students in our country. Than points out that the main reason is:Popularization of higher education requires all higher education institutes to go beyond college elite education mode into the public education mode and to meet the needs of social development. However, due to various reasons, in general, Chinese universities have not adapted to this change, which affects the quality of education and student employment; Academic marketization to a certain extent, affects the balanced development of all majors, engineering integrated with the market and some arts and sciences majors are developing too fast, while the basic disciplines majors are developing weaken, which leads to the imbalance of supply and demand for the labor market, and further lead to some majors students employment difficulty; Excessive college enrollment impairs the supply and demand balance for the job market and reduces the employment rate; Currently most universities emphasis on scientific research performance evaluation model, which in return affect the effort which teachers put into teaching and personnel training and finally to some extent affects the quality of education and student employment; the traditional an exam-oriented education model that most universities are still following obstructs the development of the level of talents training. On this basis, this dissertation put forward the corresponding countermeasures.Employment difficulty of college students is a very complex problem with social issues and education issues, and many factors involved. The thesis must also exist many problems and shortcomings, it will be studied in-depth in the future.
