Functions Of Chinese University Research-based Academic Background Capitalism

Under the situation of globalization, the competition between nations is increasingly reflected in the strength of science and technology. Scientific research in university plays a key role in improving national innovation ability of science and technology, also, it is the important strength of national science and technology power. National government work report of the two sessions in2014shows that China has the ability to achieve the aim of an innovation-oriented country, obviously, from the development experience of the world’s developed countries, it is inseparable from the excellent research level of universities to achieve the goal, In recent years, with the emergence of academic capitalism trend, there have been a lot of problems with the development process of scientific research in universities of China. Therefore, to research the impact of academic capitalism on Chinese academic research, and to explore the path which is suitable for healthy and efficient development of scientific research is urgent and important for the long-term development of the university itself and achieving the goal of an innovation-oriented country.This paper uses literature research, theoretical analysis and comparative analysis methods, etc. And combs the essence and forms of academic capitalism systematically, analyzes its generating mechanism and operation mechanism, affirms its positive effect on the research function of universities in China, but also points out the negative effects it brings, including alienation of scientific concept; utilitarianism of research system; imbalance of research orientation; unequal distribution of research funding; ignorance of individual interests in the organization of research activities; the increased risk of research management; the deviation from the academic standard of researcher’s personnel behavior, etc. And on these issues arise, from both the external environment and the internal development of universities, analyzes the relationships of academic capitalism and scientific research function transformation. Finally, leam from the successful experience of the United Kingdom and the United States, combined with the actual situation of China, put forward ought choice on how universities in China deal with academic capitalism: to establish a correct scientific research concept; sound and comprehensive research system; balanced research orientation; allocation of research funding should be balance between efficiency and fairness; organization of scientific research activities should focus on resource sharing and people-oriented; management of research activities should take into account both market and science; researchers should be clear of their own reasonable position.
