China and Korea separated by a narrow strip of water, sharing a long history and cultural tradition. The two countries opened based education reform in the new century. For China and South Korea, the history education is an important part of the education system. And to understand the status of the history education of a country, it is an effective way to survey from the national curriculum standard. So this article compares the high school history curriculum standard of the two countries. Through the comparison, we find that both state owned their similarities, also having their own characteristics. South Korea’s high school history curriculum standard agrees with China on architecture. This article analysis the high school history curriculum standard of the same and different between the two countries as well as the influence factors mainly from the course target, teaching content, teaching three aspects, which demonstrates the main trends of curriculum reform.In terms of the teaching goal, South Korea pays attention to cultivate students’national identity from the national historical development level. They want to make the students understand of the history of national development and train their own imagination and judgment in the process of historical evolution of cultivating. But China pay attention to cultivate the students’ personal quality from the perspective of students’ own development,,by the specific historical events, historical figures, the study extends to some of the influence of the thoughts, feelings, values. They gradually cultivate the students’ innovative thinking ability in the process.In terms of teaching content, South Korea conforms to the knowledge of the history of target requirements. They pay attention to the expansion of the knowledge. Within the framework of content with time line, scheduling is stronger. And because of China’s vast territory and a long history, it brings great inconvenience to the selection of teaching content. Perhaps for this reason, they pay attention to select typical cases to teach. And the content organization bases on module architecture, to the project as a unit.In terms of teaching, there are highlighting different between the two countries. South Korea’s description focuses on the theoretical level. China is more focused on operating level, more pragmatic account. It can be reflected both from the evaluation means, teaching methods and resources development. But in terms of the basic practical attitude, both countries are consistent. This point in the narrative on the textbook compiling principle can be show clearly.Overall, China and South Korea’s high school history curriculum standard difference and mixed, although each has his strong point. But the two countries are closely following the world in the21st century the pace of curriculum reform, complying with the new education idea and education mode reform. No matter from the background to the content of the curriculur standard development rules, they are shown between the two countries since the new curriculur reform of middle school history education, some new changes, new perspective. Either in th historiography circle or education, is determined to reform, its spirit is commendable, but it i not easy. Truly putting into effect Development in the new curriculum reform today, how ca we find a conforms to their own characteristic way of dealing with history and reality, throug China and South Korea the comparison of the high school history curriculum standard, it may b able to give us some enlightenment.
