The acculturation for a new teacher in High school plays animportant role in their professional development. When they enterschool, they will face a lot of difficulties, such as spiritual culture,system culture, and material culture. Many new teachers find itdifficult to adjust to the new roles immediately. These issues arecaused by many reasons. Investigating this question will not only helpthe new teachers adapt to their roles, but also be helpful in students’learning.This thesis is based on the new teachers in Y school as theresearch objects, which combines theoretical research withempirical research. In order to reflect the present situation, it usesthe following methods, such as literature, questionnaire and interview.By analyzing and solving the question, this thesis aims to providesome useful references to the new teachers. This study is divided into four parts: the first part is anintroduction, the literature review, concludes the objects andmethods of the research.The second part is to analyze the current situation about thecultural adaptation for the new teachers. According to the relatedtheories, this thesis investigates the situation about the new teacherin Y school. By learning the adaptation in their material culture,spiritual culture and system culture, it reveals the current situation.The third part analyzes the factors in cultural adaptation for thenew teachers.The forth part puts forward some useful solutions to promote thenew teachers’ problems from two aspects: one is the school culture,and the other is teachers themselves.The research shows that the new teachers in Y school adapt wellto the school spirit culture. This is owing to the new teachers’ wellreorganization for Y school’s theory on school management. The newteachers would like to do as the theory on school management. Theyhave a better understand about the theory on school managementthrough the design of school badge. Having a good relationship withthe other teachers will help the new teacher adaptation the spiritculture well. And their acculturation for the school’s system isrelatively poor. So the new teachers feel great pressure, such as the timetable, the evaluation system and so on. All of these make the newteachers become the vulnerable groups. It is difficult for teachers toasking leaving. Y school doesn’t pay more attention to the training forthe new teachers. On the contrary, their acculturation for the schools’material is relatively good, such as the arrangement for the teachingfacilities, dormitory and the mess for teachers. With the time going,the new teachers will gradually adapt into the situation.
