A Comparative Study On High School Teaching Literary Chinese Compulsory

Language teaching material has always been the face of the majority of the population, and has impacted wildly on the educated. People’s Education Press had been the only language teaching material of the publisher. In2003, the "High School Chinese Curriculum (Experimental) standards" was issued by the Ministry of Education, which broke the situation of PEP domination. Therefore, the various versions of teaching material appeared as if springing up. Whether these different teaching materials can promote students’development and meet the requirement of new curriculum reform in high school is the focus of academic discussion. As the ancient Chinese written language, Literary Chinese has been preserved many ancient classics for a long time, which is the source for students to learn Chinese culture and inherit the spirit of the Chinese nation. According to the actual situation of the home, the author compares two sets of Chinese material between People’s Education Press and Jiangsu Education Press. Meanwhile, the author analyzes their characteristics, and makes appropriate recommendations. Hope that the two versions can learn from each other in order to make more important contributions to the new curriculum reform.First of all, the paper sorts out the research status of Literary Chinese to high school teaching materials. In the body part of the paper, the author makes a comparative analysis from three aspects:the sample system, study assistance system, and exercise system. In first chapter, the two versions of the materials have been compared from the horizontal and vertical aspects. Horizontal comparison in sample system focus on the number, subject matter and genre, the author and the times involved and so on; Portrait is from the essay to compare the level of convergence. Next, some suggestions for the sample material have been put forward, such as reasonable distribution of each of the model number, the scattered layout of the self-reading textbook, and paying attention to the comprehensive and representative and the cohesion of the idol. In second chapter, the study assistance system includes the introduction of the unit, comments, illustrations and extra resources. After comparison, the author makes practical recommendations connecting with education practice. The three-dimensional object of the Chinese course should be infiltrated in the introduction of the unit. And we should treat the comments rigorously, and increase the artistic aesthetic felling of the illustration, while grasp the coordination of the illustrations and text content. The third chapter is exercise system, which mainly contains exercises’name, type and number to compare. At the same time, the chapter especially quotes a sample text in order to microscopic inquiry, and then the analysis was put forward. It has been done better in comparing the type and ladder type transition in the two versions of the materials. However, there are several problems in the compiling of the two versions of the materials that the capacity and differences of exercises should be paid more attention. Finally, according to the comparison and analysis, the existing problem of the teaching material is the uniformity of instrumental and humanistic between People’s Education Press and Jiangsu Education Press. Hope that there will be better combination of the instrumental and humanistic, and it will be more useful for students to improve their literacy of the classical Chinese.
