For the visualization of the ocean environment data, as the difference among the factors such as dataorganization, data structures, data visualization’s demand, the methods for visualization also vary for eachother. In this paper, through comparing and anglicizing different data used by ocean environmental predictioncenter, we at last identify the different methodologies and processes of oil spills, storm surges, rescue, windsand flow field data. And summarizing them into vector fields and scalar field to explain.In scalar field visualization, mainly including oil spills, storm surges and rescue data. First of all for stormsurges data, we explain the normal method for the discrete density point data, then via analysis for theestablished triangle network structure, raise the method for its contour generating, which could get rightislands lines and contour lines without islands lines’ interference and meaningless contour lines. For rescuedata, because of the very few point in initial data, we develop the shortest path analysis function, which couldcomplete the navigation effect to avoid one or more obstacles between the origin and destination, and completethe visualization of this path. For oil spills data, for the changing of oil scope in the field of two-dimensionalvisualization, we develop the oil boundary extraction function. By traversing various discrete points in thepredefined thresholds within the distribution of other points in the four quadrants, we get a blank record forcomparing, and through using the record to match the various border points confirmed complete boundaryextraction.In vector field visualization field, mainly including winds and flow field data. For these two, main featureis the forecast distribution data-intensive, stability, Visual range of forecasting method provided. For these, wecomplete the work about wind vane for characterized overall as well as symbolic flow arrow. Making visualsymbols and get the method for pumping dilute of vector points. Mainly based system leaning method, bindingarrows within the scope of the data with other data points in different directions within the value end of itsvector component of the powerful on behalf of the regional vector and complete the visualization symbolvisualization work based it.By summarizing issues above, complete the development of ocean environment warning system, designthe system architecture and database based the ocean environment data, develop multiple modules such astwo-dimension, three-dimensional, dynamic display, forecast maps making, data management and so on.Reach the final completion of the Ocean Environmental Forecasting product visualization system, adding anew secondary means for ocean forecasting.
