In this paper, using orthogonal test and Fluent to to study the effects of the cap structure on mass transfer efficiency, the Combined Trapezoid Spray Tray cap structure is optimized for obtaining higher mass transfer effidency.According mass and energy conservation equations, the share model of liquid film broken into droplets was derived by using annular flow and homogenous flow theory. Through theoretical derivation, the content of liquid film broken into droplets was related to the cap structure, such as the cap camber, the length of air inlet and the height of clearance between the cap and the plate.In order to explore the influence degree of the cap camber, the length of air inlet and the height of clearance between the cap and the plate three factors on mass transfer effidency, this paper used orthogonal test instead of comprehensive test to reduce the workload. Through the analysis of the test results, the cap camber and the length of air inlet are the important factors that affects the mass transfer effidency. The height of clearance between the cap and the plate is the secondary factor.The paper used the FLUENT software to analyze the gas single-phase flow and gas-liquid two phase flow. The analysis found that within certain range limits, the cap with larger Angle and air inlet length, liquid membrane broken quality score will be bigger. This article set liquid film crushing quality score20%above, so that the optimized cap structure is: the cap Angle is10.5°, air inlet length is34.6mm, the height of clearance between the cap and the plate can be set according to the technological requirements.In this paper, we studied for the Combined Trapezoid Spray Tray cap,and provided basis for the design and optimization. The research also laid a foundation for further research in the future.
