Recently, along with the develop-the-west strategy proceeding, the quantitydemand of large-scale bar rolling increases continuously. A large amount oflarge-scale bar rolling production lines are constructed and transformed, which resultsin that the high reversing mill technology and the blooming technology are widelyused.This is a large bar rolling project in Xining Special Steel Group in Qinghaiprovince China. The thesis states the application, basic automation and processcontrol strategy of IGCT and IGBT in blooming mill, continuous mill, bloom shear,flying shear, hot saw and other main/auxiliary drive systems, with full considerationof Electrical equipment plateau efficiency reduction.SINAMICS SM150adopting IGCT component is a modularizing tri-syncfrequency conversion system with DC voltage link. In order to obtain more outputpower, the transformer can be connected to mutual insulated motor winding system.Regeneration and EV Mode can use three DC-ACs connect with the AFE of therectifier/feedback unit, and it also can acquire power complementary in the DC part,thus reducing the loss of the frontend of AFE and the transformers. The project adoptsAC drive scheme and SINAMIC S120, thus achieving remarkable dynamicperformances in rolling mill auxiliary drive application. Modularizing DC linkvoltage power of connect conversion system have a innovative digital control system,and parts of drive system of equipment use common DC bus.Basic automation system consists of SIMATICS7PLC systems of rolling millregion. The automation units use SDAT to connect with SIMATIC NET of IndustrialEthernet to communicate. Every Automatic Unit is connected with related electricalequipment, being used for detection of signals, performing action and drivecontrolling.Basic automation system adopts WINCC as monitoring and control link, and the WINCC reduces the number of operators and maintainers in the workshop, thus reducing the cost and the probability of production accident. In the aspect of processing control strategy, the basic automation system applies technology of L2to optimizethe management of manufacture order, furnace data, setting data, rooler, material trac king, manufacturing data, manufacturing account, raw material storage, and stock,etc,thus improving work efficiency and automational level, clearing and optimizing the level of workshop management.
