Iron ore as an important raw material in the steel industry, its quality directly affects the quality of your goods. Therefore, to be ripe, accurate detection of iron ore quality analysis is very important. In the concentrator of baotou steel iron ore, rare earth elements is an important associated elements, is an important byproduct of iron ore production. Rare earth elements in steel production, meanwhile, have the effect of the deoxidizer and desulphurizer, and also can eliminate or weaken the impact of other harmful impurities on the steel quality. Therefore, the determination of rare earth elements in the steel and metallurgical industry is also an important detection project. Based on the analysis of energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence principle, Baogang Group concentrator samples were measured for iron ore grade and wherein the rare earth element component measurements.Based on WDXRF, a qualitative analysis of the iron ore samples is carried out to determine whether the sample contains La and Ce.By energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence analyzer(IED-2000 T type multi elements fast analyzer) of the optimum measurement conditions were discussed, and calculate the corresponding detection limit and precision, to determination the IED-2000 T can measure iron in the rare earth element component.Use incremental method and count rate method of rare earth element La and Ce in iron ore weight measurement, the EDXRF measured value and the reference value for the relative error comparison between the two methods.EDXRF analysis technique was used to detect the quality of the iron ore, calculating the measurement precision, and the experimental measurement results and the chemical analysis value compared to calculate the relative error, makes the measurement more reliability and authenticity of the results of analysis.Through the above analysis, the main achievements are:(1)Rare earth element La and Ce in the iron ore samples to measure, to make energy dispersive X ray fluorescence analyzer to achieve the optimal effect of measurement, in this paper, the selection of optimum measuring conditions for the analysis of relevant research. Using peak back ratio method to select the best instrument conditions, determined the best tube voltage of 14 k V, the optimum tube current of 17μA.(2)For Rare Earth Elements La and Ce experiments were carried out analysis of the incremental method, will analyze the incremental value as measured with a reference value for comparison, analysis of the accuracy of their methods to calculate the relative error between-7 to 7%; Rare Earth Elements La and Ce way repeated measurements of the same sample to calculate the accuracy of 2.8% and 2.3%, and the detection limit of Ce and La were 223ug/g and 499ug/g respectively.(3)Using the method of count rate of rare earth element La and Ce in iron ore samples to measure, compare the results with the reference value relative error in-9~9% and-9~8%;(4)Count rate method was used to determine the content of Fe element in ore, the analysis of measured values compared with chemical analysis values calculated its relative errors are below 1.53%, and the calculation method for the same sample repeated measurement precision is 0.4%;Studies show that EDXRF analysis can implement precise and ingenious combination of nondestructive testing of rare earth element La and Ce in iron ore samples, and can judge the quality of the iron ore for rapid and accurate detection.In this paper, XRF analysis technology content Baogang Group concentrator grade iron ore samples and rare earth elements made a more comprehensive analysis, and achieved good results, its basic indicators(such as: accuracy, precision and the detection limit, etc.) to meet the requirements. This will lay a certain foundation for the future research and application, and also have the guidance function for the same instrument in other fields.
