With the development of CNC machine, the ability to deal with the work condition of high speed and heavy load is more and more important. Because of their own characteristics, traditional rolling and sliding guide rail can’t deal with such working conditions independently. Similarly, compared with single screw drive system, because of high rigidity and high response speed, double screw drive system can meet the requirements of feed system of high-speed and heavy load CNC machine better. So a research for a new type double driven rolling and sliding composite guide rail feed system and its dynamic characteristics has very important significance.Based on functional requirements of the double driven rolling and sliding composite guide rail feed system, this paper did the structure design for the composite guide rail, and did static analysis and topological optimization for the workbench and other parts. Finally the new type feed system test bench has been manufactured.This paper established the modal test system, did modal test on the feed system, and collected each order vibration mode and frequency of the test bench. The paper put forward a new kind of finite element modeling method in cylinder joints model -- ring virtual material modeling. By comparing of the results of finite element simulation and modal test, the study verified the accuracy of the new modeling method.Based on the single freedom degree vibration theory, the paper established dynamic characteristic parameters testing system and identification method that can eliminate the influence of basic component’s movement in the feed system’s conjunction. By variable control test, the paper obtained the dynamic characteristic parameters under different conditions of feed system. The study analyzed the rules and reasons of variation of parameters in different conditions.
