With the rapid development of modern industrial technology, gantry CNC machine tools as the base of equipment manufacturing industry needed to meet the requirements of high precision, high efficiency and large tonnage. Bed and workbench were two important supporting parts of gantry CNC machine tool, and their performance directly affected machining precision and efficiency of the work. Therefore, the static and dynamic analysis were made to the fixed beam gantry CNC machine tool to identify the weaknesses and unreasonable of the structural design, and optimal design was taken to improve the overall machine static and dynamic characteristics. The main research contents are as follows:Firstly, the static and dynamic characteristics analysis were made to original machine tool bed. According to the structure and working conditions, two different kinds of stiffened plates were designed. With the main optimization objective of lightweight design, the method of topological optimization was taken to verity the rationality of bed structure, and then, obtained the static and dynamic characteristic of bed with the help of ANSYS/Workbench software.Ssecondly, the static and dynamic characteristics analysis were made to original machine tool workbench. The structure and working conditions were taken to the finite element analysis of workbench; On the basis of the analysis, the dimension variables were selected by orthogonal experiment; With the using of ANSYS/workbench software of sensitivity analysis, the results of the analysis were gotten; And then, the analysis results and the dimension variables were taken to secondary regression by the response surface method; meanwhile, the objective function, constraints and design variables were determined to use MATLAB optimization toolbox to optimal design of workbench, At last, the best dimension were gotten and the finite element analysis were taken.Finally, the static and dynamic characteristics analysis were made to Original bed and workbench assembly model. On the basis of analysis, the new model of bed and workbench were assembled after structure optimization, and the finite element analysis was taken under the same constraints. After optimizing the overall quality of the two supporting parts was alleviated and the better static and dynamic characteristics was obtained.
