With the rapid development of information technology and network technology in the global scope, the machine tool industry is undergoing a revolutionary change. Digital design technology is the driving force in the machine tool industry, and the knowledge base is one of the key technologies of digital design. The knowledge base of analysis on static, dynamic and thermal characteristics of the feed system of NC machine tool aims to help analysis personnel complete the machine tool design better and faster from the perspective of digital. Further studying on this field and making a breakthrough will develop the whole CNC machine tool industry and promote the development of Chinese manufacturing industry and economic development, it will be significant.Based on the analysis of static, dynamic and thermal characteristics of domestic machine tool industry and the field survey, the overall design of the knowledge base is carried out. The paper firstly research the function demand and performance demand of the system, then research the data architecture design, system function and system structure of the flow graph analysis. And then studied the key technology of system realization needs, including the knowledge modeling of static, dynamic and thermal characteristics analysis, knowledge representation and acquisition method research, knowledge reasoning research:based on the study of the analysis of static, dynamic and thermal characteristics of feed system, establishing the knowledge model; by comparing the commonly used knowledge representation and acquisition methods, presenting a hybrid knowledge representation method and knowledge acquisition model; considering the knowledge characteristics, knowledge reasoning method used in this paper is the based on case reasoning and the based on rule reasoning. On the basis of study the process of reasoning algorithm, the paper gives examples of application of case-based reasoning and rule-based reasoning in the system.Finally, based on the key technology research, combined with the demand analysis and the design of system structure, this paper design and develop the knowledge base of analysis on static, dynamic and thermal characteristics of the feed system of NC machine tool using the object oriented language C# and SQL database integration technology and gives the examples of the system.
