HeMao coking used coking-polygeneration technology, developed as the first nation-wide multi-generation coking circle mode of economic development, and obtained various economic and social benefits. However, in terms of energy conservation, effort should be made for improvement in the process.Based on real production data of HeMao coking for recent three years, aiming at the improvement for higher energy efficiency and clean production for the purpose, this work studied the material balance, the energy balance and heat recovery technology of the coking plant, calculated and analyzed the coking process materials and energy balance. According to the data, this work optimized the production process and utilization of the waste heat in order to achieve the purpose of energy saving, which has a strong practical significance.Through data of HeiMao coking, this work calculated the total mass balance of the coking process, showing that HeiMao coking material balance was achieved, of which the error was less than 1%. Further calculation on the ash balance and sulfur balance showed that the gas passage (cracks or caves) between the carbonization chamber and the combustion chamber seriously affected the coking production, which is in great need of reparation; the reduced coke quality was due to the higher ash content and the higher sulfur content of the coal in the furnace, which should be adjusted by the ratio of coal into the furnace.Further, the heat balance data were collected. It can be seen that the oven heat loss of HeiMao coking is great, accounting for about 20% of total energy, leading to the 66% coking-thermal efficiency. The heat of the coke, raw gas and flue gas took up 40%,25% and 13.5% of total energy, respectively. CDQ technology was used to recycle the sensible heat of the coke, the recovered heat is about 27,615 tons/year, according to standard coal; heat transfer oil jacket technology was used to recycle the heat of the raw gas, the recovered heat is about 13,275 tons/year in equivalent to standard coal. Heat recovery of flue gas was used for CMC, which showed that the heat of flue gas can reach the demand of the heat of CMC. After CMC, the economic benefits of coking products increased, up to an average of 74.5 million yuan/year.
