The worm shaft is the basic elements of mechanical device for transmission and one of the machining parts in typical mechanical processing.The worm shaft in forming technology of cross wedge rolling is new topic of domestic research in recent years,Which based on the advantages of cross wedge rolling technology of high efficiency,saving material when the production of large quantities of the worm shaft.It is in line with national manufacturing effective environmental production call.In this paper,mathematical model for the worm shaft forming under the technology of cross wedge rolling are researched and analysis,with reference to plenty of the establishment and analysis method of geometric model of gear shaft in similar articles.Considering the forming characteristics of the roll and rotation characteristics of the worm shaft material,mathematical models are summarized of the worm shaft and the die.Feature modeling function of modeling software Pro/E verify the correctness of the mathematical model.The slip-line method is used to solve the value of the limit load and the uneven phenomenon of worm tooth was researched.DEFORM-3D simulation software was used to carry out the worm shaft forming process simulation and analysis.By comparison of the data and the simulation results show the correctness of the established mathematical model and found optimal rolling parameter,such as the rolling speed and tooth top slope.The stress field,strain field shaping influence of the worm shaft was obtained after simulation.It is practical significance to master the basic rules of worm surface when forming in the technology of cross wedge rolling,which provide basic data for the mold design.The issue has an important role in improving the production efficiency of the worm shaft in the market and provide a very good opportunity to promote the wedge rolling industry of Hebei province.
