With the rapid development of the seamless steel tube industry in our country, high quality seamless steel tube becomes the main current social need. Under this requirement, an increasing number of steel enterprises attach great importance to the technology of seamless steel tube quenching and tempering heat treatment. However as a clean and environmentally friendly induction heating technology, it is urgent to study the continuous heat treatment of steel pipe. The simulation of important parameters to the induction heat treatment production line can play a guide role in the development of practical technology and equipment development, improving development efficiency, solving the disadvantage of high design cost, and inaccurate empirical date and so on. Therefore, in this task continuous induction heating numerical simulation method is applied to the actual process of steel production, finding and solving the problems existing in the present stage. Meanwhile, it will have a significant importance.Based on the above reasons and significance, the paper briefly describes the law of electromagnetic induction, skin effect, penetration depth, annular effect, which are based on the theory of the efficiency of the electromagnetic induction heating. It detailedly computes the energy parameters and energy loss in induction heat processing production line, combining with the actual production, analyzing and calculating the specific relationship between induction heating electrical efficiency and the parameters, combining with the common finite element numerical analysis method introducing the theory and method of the application in steel tube heat treatment production line,the facing specific problem about the induction heating technology in continuous heat treatment production line.Thus offers the theory foreshadowing and the analytical prerequisite for the following research.Using Deform-3D software we can simulate different frequency induction heating process, analyzing the impact of frequency induction heating, summing up the design frequency selection rule. Because induction heating process is the result of joint action by skin effect and thermal conduction,we simulate induction heating process the analysis of these two heating principle of radial temperature uniformity,namely the temperature difference between the inside and outside surfaces. In addition, we simulate the end effect when induction heating, presenting optimization program.At the moment we select the induction heating furnace size for the study, simulating the induction heating process of different distances between the Steel tube O.D. and the inner diameter of levitation coil, analyzing the effect of different pitches in the heating efficiency, and proposing spacing design rule.Finally, conducting a series of experiments to induction heating scheme in analog design will briefly introduce the equipment and technology induction quenching production line, using the site induction quenched and tempered steel cable experimental and data acquisition, simulating results to verify the frequency of options, end effect optimization scheme’s correctness, and through professional testing to verify the performance of the test product.Through the above research, It is realized that the numerical simulation and analysis of the heating process of seamless steel tube in induction heating production line. It provides a guidance for the induction heating technology in the process design and optimization of the continuous heat treatment production line of steel tube.
