Status And The Option Of Rural Domestic Sewage Treatment Technology

With the acceleration of urbanization in developing countries around the world, water pollution is becoming increasingly prominent. Water pollution spreads from urban to rural areas. Government officials and experts have paid much attention to it.In this paper, the current situation of rural sewage treatment and the option to treat the rural domestic sewage is discussed in a case of Anji county. Rural sewage treatment has been regarded as the major project for creating a national ecological county Anji since 2003. On the basis of the experience of wastewater treatment in rural area and the actual situation of each village, The suitable technology can be used to treat the rural sewage by modifying the existing drainage facilities in rural areas and making full use of favorable conditions.According to the study results of wastewater treatment in Anji, the following tips should be noticed for choosing rural sewage treatment technologies. 1) The prediction of the omission of rural sewage should be combined with regional planning, rural population growth and the lifestyles and the habits of residents. 2) Various factors such as the economic, social and natural conditions in the countryside are supposed to be taken into account for the determination of sewage treatment models. The option of rural sewage treatment technology were made by the local economic level and the environmental function division with the size of the waste water, the sewage disposal models, the source of rural domestic sewage, the difference of power source and the terrain features. 3) Rural domestic sewage treatment facilities should not only meet the current needs but also be suitable for future need.
