Research On Urban Sludge Thermal Drying And Incineration Characteristics

With the development of economy, the amount of urban sludge becomes increasing. However, there are various hazardous substances in the sludge. Once processed in an inappropriate manner, these substances will have negative impacts on the environment. For now, many methods are being used in practical sludge treatment, including sanitary landfill, sludge incineration, and utilization for land, etc. In particular, the sludge incineration, superior over others, has been widely used in the domestic. Thus, it is important and necessary to analyze the properties of sludge during the drying and incineration.First of all, this paper introduces the sources, property, purpose of sludge, as well as its impacts on the environment. The second chapter elaborates the present situation, trends and relevant experience of sludge treatment at home and abroad. And it focuses on the usage in practice.In the third chapter, the technology of sludge drying at home and abroad are both analyzed and compared, including drying process in fluidized bed, belt-type drying process, TLC turbo drying device, rotary drum drying process, turntable drying process, and paddle steam drying process. The fourth chapter describes the experiment of drying and incineration, and analyzes the sludge characteristics, thus laying the foundation for subsequent treatment.At last, this paper researches the ignition performance, combustion stability, flow changes of flue gas, and the economy. Thus, the influence by sludge incorporation with different moisture and amounts can be tested and learned. Moreover, the final effects can be studied on the abrasion of heating surface, on the milling system, on the ash quality in power plant, and on the waste emissions. Through the incineration research of dry sludge, can provide reference for the design and construction of sludge project.
