The number of tailing pond in China, the first place is hebei province, the number of tailing pond in Chengde accounted for 90% of the whole country. Tailings Installations is including tailings dam, flood drainage system, tailings transportation system and backwater system, while flood drainage system is the important part of the safe and stable operation of tailing pond. With the increase of the number of the tailing pond, Location of tailing pond is hard to avoid complex terrain and dense populated area. Therefore, flood drainage system is very complex. Due to the flood calculation formulae and the forms of flood drainage system is different in each region and the flood calculation is complex, most people using EXCEL form assistant calculation or manual labor in the design of flood drainage system. It’s not only reduces work efficiency, but also brings a lot of inconvenience to design management of tailing pond. Therefore, a operation platform of flood drainage system is very important to tailing pond design.In this paper, developing software of complex flood drainage, the main research contents include:(1)The implementation steps of flood calculation and method is described in detail.Improing traditionally adopts graphic on the basis of MATLAB, through manual example shows the improved method is correct.(2) Basing on hydrodynamics theory,this paper derivates the formula for hydraulic calculation of complex drainage system of tailings reservoir and the method of solving various working condition of discharge volume,it builds database of the flood calculation and hydraulic calculation from place to place.(3)Though MATLAB software,this paper write the source code of calculation formula,and constructe convenient and rapid alternating interface between man and computer that provides the visual operation platform for planner and raise the work efficiency and the calculation accuracy.(4) I take Chang Gou tailing pond as an engineering example and calculate the peak discharge and flood volume and flood hydrograph of the tailing pond according to the software that this paper develops and calculate the discharge of different drainage structures and compare the calculation results with current codes and shows that the calculated results of this paper developing software conform to current codes.This software has high accuracy and strong practicability,it can effectively effective provides an important scientific basis for the design of drainage system of tailings reservoir and be applied in practical engineering.
