China is one of the fastest growing countries in the world today, the food processing industry plays an important role in economic activities. The reform and innovation is becoming a new engine of economic growth, sustainable development of the food industry is based on the reform and innovation of the food machinery, which’s modernization has become a trend, so we must speed up the development of food processing equipment. As cutting is an important link in food processing, which is necessary to further design and research of vegetable cutter.At present the market, vegetable cutter lacks of multi-function, high-degree of automation and low rate of waste. In this paper, the QSP-1600 L automatic multi-function vegetable cutter is designed. The mechanical structure and electrical control system are described minutely and respectively. The working principle of the cutting machine is analyzed, The process of blade rotation with vertical feeding material and blade rotary with linear feeding material are designed to achieve the purpose of multifunctional cutting. The drive mode of cutting system is selected. The strength of transmission shaft is calculated and checked. The status of conveying and pressing mechanism and a spiral cutter are analyzed according to the cutting theory. The appropriate transmission scheme and arc blade structure are designed. Moreover, the key components are designed accurately. The virtual prototype of vegetable cutter is created in Creo. The pre-assembling with interference of the model is checked, so as to analyze the internal structure of the vegetable cutter, ensuring that the structure is reasonable. Besides, the main parts of the security is checked in finite element analysis. The electrical control system of the vegetable cutter is designed base on PLC and touch screen technology. The motion control of each component is achieved by PLC programmable logic controller, so as to reduce the energy consumption and ensure safety of the product. The parameters of the vegetable cutter are set and the working state is monitored timely base on touch screen man-machine interface, which let users operate simpler and efficient.In this paper, the QSP-1600 L automatic multi-function vegetable cutter is researched, which laid a foundation for the further research on automation and multifunction of vegetable cutter and has certain economic benefits and social benefits.
