| As an important part of the industry systems such as steel companies, thermal power plants and petrochemical enterprises, recirculating cooling water system plays a critical role in guaranteeing the safe and stable operation of the whole industry systems mentioned above, when its circulating water pumps are under conditions such as start-up or pumping accident, a large water hammer pressure and a long time pressure fluctuation will be easily created, which will then cause the water hammer accident which may damage pipes and equipment and in this way finally threat the safe operation of the whole production system. Therefore, it is of great significance to carry out the analysis and research on transient progress of industrial recirculating cooling water system, which will can not only provide a basis for the design of system and the strength check of pipe and equipment, but also guarantee the safe and stable operation of the system. The transient progress of industrial recirculating cooling water system was studied under the financial of Project Supported by Provincial Prospective Cooperation of Industry-Academia-Research, Project Supported by C-S Foundation of Yangzhou City and Yangzhou University, the main works and results are as below:(1) The structure and major equipment of different industrial recirculating cooling water systems were analyzed.(2) Based on the 3D visualization model of pump compete characteristic curve, the pump compete characteristic curve data at different specific speeds were predicted.(3) The characteristic line method used to calculate the transient progress of recirculating cooling water system was introduced, several typical industrial recirculating cooling water systems was simulated using the software Flowmaster and the characteristic line method, the different transient progresses were calculated under conditions such as pump start, pumping accident with different valve closing rules and different number of pumps, the calculation results were analyzed.(4) The effects of pumping accident transient progress on recirculating cooling water systems with different diameters of water supply pipe and different patterns of water supply were calculated and analyzed, the advice of the selection of pipe was given considering the transient progress effect on the system, some referential principles of the arrangement of water supply pipeline were put forward; finally, the valves that can be chosen by pump outlet and protection measures against water hammer for equipment such as air reservoir were introduced. |
